Das Frankfurt English Speaking Theatre e. V. (besser bekannt als FEST) bringt seit seiner Gründung 1977 englisches Theater im Frankfurter Raum / Rhein-Main Gebiet auf die Bühne. FEST ist ein unabhängiger, nicht kommerzieller Verein, der es sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat das englischsprachige Amateurtheater in seinen verschiedenen Ausprägungen zu fördern.
In den vergangenen Jahren haben wir jährlich 2 Produktionen auf die Bretter, die die Welt bedeuten gebracht, eine im Frühling und eine im Herbst bzw. Winter. Diese Produktionen reichten von Einaktern und anderen kurzen Stücken zu abendfüllenden Dramen & Komödien, Thrillern, eigenen Skripten und englischen "Pantomimes". Außerhalb der Produktionen veranstalten wir Playreadings, Wokshops, und Events wie z.B. das traditionelle Sommer-Grillfest.
Als permanentes Gastgebermitglied des Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies (FEATS) nehmen wir regelmäßig an diesem Festival teil. In den letzten Jahren wurden unsere Bemühungen mit folgenden Preisen ausgezeichnet: dem Blackie Award (Best Actress, 2009, Death in Heels), dem ECC Centennial Cup (zweiter Platz, 2008, Eleemosynary), dem Mervyn Briscoe Award (zweiter Platz) & dem Blackie Award (Best Actress, 2006, WASP), sowie der Marcel Huhn-Bruno Boeye Trophy (Stage Management, 2004, Anti! Anti!). Des Weiteren haben wir FEATS mehrmals ausgerichtet (1991, 1996, 2003 und zuletzt im May 2010. |

Established as a "Verein" in 1977 the Frankfurt English Speaking Theatre e. V. (also known as FEST) has brought English Language Theatre to the Rhein-Main area for over 30 years. The club is an independent non-profit organisation, with the aim to cultivate and promote English-speaking amateur theatre in all its various forms.
In recent years we have brought 2 productions to the stage each year - one in spring and one in autumn /winter. These productions have included one-acts and short pieces, as well as full length dramatic and comedic pieces, whodunits, original scripts, and Pantomimes. In between productions we host other activities such as play readings, workshops, our infamous annual barbecue and other excuses to go for a drink.
FEST is a permanent hosting member of the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies (FEATS). As such, we regularly take part in this competition; in recent years we have been honoured with The Blackie Award for Best Actress (2009, Death in Heels and 2006, Wasp), The ECC Centennial Cup for Second Place (2008, Eleemosynary), The Mervyn Briscoe Award for Second Place (2006, WASP), and The Marcel Huhn-Bruno Boeye Trophy for Stage Management (2004, Anti! Anti!). We have hosted the competition several times (in 1991, 1996, 2003 and most recently in May 2010.
